Earlier, as a student at Manchester Polytechnic in Design for Communication Media (Design for Learning) from 1984-1987, walking the dales of Yorkshire and the peaks of Derbyshire in England focused my interest in the natural world.
After travelling for eighteen months, which included a working holiday in Australia, I emigrated down under in 1992 and bushwalked the soles of my boots raw, building what I hoped one day would be a lasting collection of nature and travel images I could share personally and professionally.
My images and stories have been published in
AUSTRALIAN GEOGRAPHIC, WILD magazine,
SERENDIB (Sri Lankan Airlines in-flight magazine), CHILDFUND Newsletter, Sydney Morning Herald and sold as private art prints.

Having time to craft and compose a photograph in natural light rates highly with me. Fungi on a tree (Black Forest, Germany) or the flow of water

(Thredbo, Australia); both reveal majestic forms.
Bushwalking with a full pack and loaded camera
gives me a strong sense of purpose that I would
hope to inspire in others.
There is contentment in the wonders of nature.
Slow yourself down, open your eyes, share the world

And finally...

Preferred transport: On foot, bicycle or motorbike
Worst bus ride: India: Overnight, Bombay to Ahmedabad
Biggest stuff-up: Breaking my precious left leg in a fall in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase NP in 1996.
Not forgetting... Forgetting UK passport en route to
Czech Rep. Thrown off train at German border AT 5am,
jeered by passengers, escorted by police, locked up for
two hours, left at border, got Czech visa...hitched to Prague...
